Federico, a valid point and agree you can get caught out that way, that was the first thing I checked.
I have now had a conference call with Hiptest team who were fantastically helpful as normal. Their service is second to none.
The issue related to creating an Action Word via "Promote step as Action Word"
When we used this at a subsequent point, it was creating a step. Then when we updated from Test Scenario, Action Word Title is updated but step within is not. The step is what is shown in Test Scenario in Test Scenario but the Action Word Title is what is shown in Master Test Scenario. This is because an Action Word can have multiple steps whereas we are currently using it as one Action Word / one step with purpose of using it as a repeated step in multiple Test Scenarios and wanting the ability to update all Tests when changed or just one (as functionality currently allows multiple or single instance)
For it to work the way we want, just delete the step within the Action Word if Promote Step as an Action Word. Alternatively, Create ACtion Word when adding a new Test Step and a step is not created within Action Word & Action Word Title is your Test Step. Subsequent updates to a Test Step via Test SCenario then get reflected by either Synchronize of previous Test Run or when Create subsequent Test Runs.
Hope that helps, if not please shout.
Hiptest will also look at potential better ways to develop in order to failitate way we want to currently use Action Words afer a Conference call with them
